Travis Bohling is the Broker and Co-Founder of Home Ladder in Gilbert, AZ. He began his career in property management with a part-time job in student rentals and never looked back. After college, he moved to Arizona and boot-strapped a PM firm from zero to 3900 doors and 11 markets over 7 years and exited with a sale to a venture-backed national company. He joined this national firm as an executive and had an active role in helping to craft a national strategy, advising on their proprietary software development, and recruited/led a national team of property managers. While in this role, the firm expanded to 14,000 units in 21 markets. With this experience under his belt, he decided to go back out on his own and launch a new firm, Home Ladder. His current mission is to improve the property management experience for owners, residents, and vendors by simplifying interactions and streamlining transactions one home at a time.
Matthew is a student of the book Good To Great and is passionate about building Evernest to become the best property management company on the planet; and maybe even the universe if Elon Musk will hurry up. To do that, he spent the first ten years of Evernest in the trenches but now focuses most of his time facilitating growth in other markets. Entrepreneurship runs in the family. His wife runs a successful business called Engaged. You can usually find Matthew at the baseball field with his son, at a dance recital with his daughter or at his favorite restaurant with his wife, when he’s not in the office. And if you can’t find him in any of those places, it probably means he’s traveling. Hometown: Vestavia Hills, Alabama

Growing up throughout rural Idaho, I was surrounded by love but short on resources and stability. I sought security by building businesses from a young age, starting with the first of many enterprises, The Sherlock Holmes Detective Agency. Offices were open for business in my parents' backyard tool shed, but clients and their mysteries never materialized. But, like most passionate entrepreneurs, I moved on to the next endeavor whether that be hustling as a dog-walker, snow shoveler, painted rock saleswoman, or pet sitter.
Today, I am the Founder + Chief Strategist of Flock DC, a family of real estate management companies that oversee two billion dollars in property in Washington, DC property. Flock is a purpose-driven, justice-based company that offers a new model for business in a world that will increasingly depend on companies to contribute to stronger and more sustainable communities. I am deeply engaged in the community as an active member of the Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2020 and EO. I serve as Board Chair of Whitman-Walker Health, a federally qualified health center. I founded birdSEED, a housing justice foundation run by Flock DC, I advise as a volunteer with Jubilee Housing on real estate acquisition and development for the homeless and returning citizens. I am also a Commissioner Mayor on the DC Advisory Counsel for Condo Associations. During the pandemic, I took on one of my hardest challenges, writing a book! Self-Elected: How to Put Justice Over Profit and Soar in Business is available now on my website, meetlisawise.com
When I’m not out trying to change the world and create great jobs, I’m enjoying time with my son Beckett and all kinds of animals! You can learn more about me at meetlisawise.com. I’ll keep flying high and appreciate you being part of this journey with me.
